You can search using anything that is in the database: manufacturer, model, body shape, dimensions etc.
Tip: The quickest way to find a “Ford Transit Custom” is to enter the model name directly.
Here you should select what you know about the vehicle you are looking for. The number of hits will become smaller with each step.
You can decide yourself which view(s) you want to see:
e.g. all, or just front and left side. In addition, you can freely choose the display size on your monitor using the slider.
Here you will find all the important information about the respective vehicles such as the year of manufacture, body shape, glazing, dimensions etc.
Problem: Within a chosen year of manufacture, different models are displayed because a new model or facelift came out.
Solution: In the front view, look out for typical distinguishing features such as headlights and radiator grille in order to find the right model.
You will find other helpful distinguishing features in the texts alongside the vehicle illustrations:
Year of manufacture (up to or from the chosen year of manufacture), model series designation and if applicable the supplement “facelift”.
Tip, for subscribers only: You can often also identify new models from an increase in the length of the vehicle
Where: “Search result” tab
How: Click on the “Show differences” button (top right next to the small black vehicle symbols).
The differences between the vehicles which are found are now marked in blue in the text.
Tip: Click on these texts marked in blue in order to use them as a search filter.
Where: Search result, search filter in the left-hand column: Body > length, height or wheelbase
How: Click in the dropdown box at the bottom on “Enter length in mm” (or height or wheelbase …)
Specified dimensions may differ slightly for many reasons, e.g. on account of lowering of the chassis or different add-on components (trailer coupling, running boards, …). In the case of commercial vehicles, the height may differ depending on the maximum vehicle load capacity because suspensions of different strength are fitted.
The examples listed are generally irrelevant to the vehicle design because the body is always the same.
electric, fully electric (EV: electric vehicle, BEV: battery electric vehicle)
Flap sometimes hidden under logos.
Hybrid, full hybrid, mild hybrid (fHEV/sHEV: Full/Strong Hybrid Electric Vehicle, mHEV: Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle)
Ordinary fuel tank flap.
Pug-in hybrid (PHEV: Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle)
Two flaps (fuel tank flap and charging flap)
Where: “Photo comparison” tab (right-hand side)
How: Search in the usual way by vehicle manufacturer and model. Then click on the “Photo comparison” tab, and drag your photos using the mouse to the appropriate fields (front, left, …). Now click on your uploaded photos in order to easily compare the matching views of photos and drawings. If necessary, drag the left edge of the photo comparison column to the left with your mouse in order to enlarge your photos. Tip: Make sure that wherever possible vehicles are photographed without a wide-angle lens or perspective distortion.

click at "Upload your logo" on the green button "Upload logo" and choose the logo file on your computer.
The uploaded logo will appear at the top on the right hand side. It will appear as well in sended links and downloaded PDF files.
Formats: JPEG, TIFF, PNG or GIF (We recommend PNG with transparency)
The prerequisite for this is that you are a subscriber to CAR-SPECIAL or CAR-SPECIAL-Online.
After login here in the CAR-SPECIAL-Cloud your company name should appear at the top, above the search field (not in green letters "Test version").
Select the vehicle you want (manufacturer, model, version) from the numerous search options and filters.
When you click on a vehicle, you can view the relevant model as a large preview with all the details. You also have further options such as a quick measurement tool (measure) or light box function (bookmark).
If the model is also available in 3D, you can also download this template so that you can subsequently present it with your design in our CAR 3D tool. CAR 3D
Specify a folder on your hard drive in which you would like to save the file.
You will receive the Car Lettering in compressed form, as a ZIP-file. In order to use the files, they will have to be unzipped after the download. Please use an unzip programme like WinZip or StuffIt to do that.
Once you have unzipped the files to a folder of your choice, you can open them with your graphic program.
You will receive the files in five formats:
The vehicles are true to scale and drawn with high precision. However, curves and beadings are displayed deficiently in a two-dimensional file. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to verify the measurements on the original vehicle before you plot the Letterings.
Our company cannot assume liability for measurement differences.
The scale used depends on the vehicle type.
PCar: On a scale of 1:30. In order to get a depiction in the actual size, enlarge the Lettering by 3,000%.
Only for cars, the Letterings are also available as a CDR 1:1 file in the archive, in the original size.
Trucks, busses, boats and trains: On a scale of 1:60. In order to get a depiction in the actual size, enlarge the Lettering by 6,000%.
Motorcycles an bicycles: On a scale of 1:15. In order to get a depiction in the actual size, enlarge the Lettering by 1,500%.
Air planes: On a scale of 1:300. In order to get a depiction in the actual size, enlarge the Lettering by 30,000%.
You will find the most important vehicle specifications on every drawing. Length, width, height, wheel base and scale are stated.
A scale of 1:30 means, that 1 cm on the drawing corresponds to 30 cm in reality. Knowing this, you can easily calculate every desired dimension
Generally all vector programs are suitable, but Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw are the programmes most frequently used. Please make sure that you always use the right import filter.
You can download a free test file in order to test the functionality on your system.
You can reliably identify most cars by their year of manufacture and body type.
For commercial vehicles, you should also have the following details to hand:
- Length and height of the vehicle
- Number of sliding doors
- Rear design (rear doors or tailgate)
- Glazing version (right/left/partial glazing/unglazed)
- Rear or front-wheel drive (depending on manufacturer)
With each search filter, you can thus further restrict the number of possible vehicles.
Note: We usually offer you the basic version of cars. Equipment packages such as sports and exclusive packages do not have any relevant impact on the basic body and can only be implemented in individual cases.
Please bear in mind that, depending on the category, the following information is absolutely essential for determining vehicles:
Cars: manufacturer and model, date of first registration, length, width, height
Commercial vehicles / vans: Same as with cars. In addition, here it is also essential to provide further details about the glazing / metal sheets, number of sliding doors, rear design (rear doors or tailgate), single or double cabin (platform truck), and drive (rear or front-wheel drive).
Buses & trucks: This segment is very complex and here there are many variations, model versions which cannot be clearly determined from the model name. The simplest solution here would be for you to provide us, in addition to the exact model name and the dimensions (length, width and height), with a few pictures showing all views.
We will find the appropriate model for you (if it exists) and send you the direct link to the appropriate template.
We do of course also offer this option for cars and commercial vehicles if no other information is available to you
